Abigale Lee
Mills (born on the 21st of September, 1965) was a American dance instructor,
choreographer and reality TV host. Abby Lee Dance Company was started by her.
It was a part of eight seasons of Dance Moms. Miller was found guilty on June
27th, 2016, to felony bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced to one and
one-half years in federal prison. She was released on March 27, 2018. In April
2018, she developed lymphoma, which is a type of cancer, and left her unable to
walk. To move around she relies on wheelchair. Miller was born in Penn Hills,
Pennsylvania. She was a professional dancer and trained under her mother at
Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was 14 years old when she was given
choreography and coaching duties on one of her mother’s dancing teams in
competition. Miller eventually took over the studioand changed its name to
Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America and
was a member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter #10 in 1986 but her
membership was cut off in February 2012, with DMA saying that Miller's show on
reality TV Dance Moms was "a total mistake in the representation of our
dance teachers and their students and is detrimental to the dance
profession."
